A morning drive ended in tragedy for 23-year-old Aurora Lilliana Valencia after the vehicle she was driving ran off a Virginia roadway, overturned and threw her out. The fatal crash happened around 5:54 a.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2026, on Strawberry Road near Glenview Drive in Pittsylvania County.

Virginia State Police identified Valencia as a resident of Dry Fork, Virginia. She was driving a 2012 Nissan XTR southbound when the vehicle left the right side of the road. What happened next proved fatal.

According to investigators, Valencia overcorrected after the vehicle ran off the roadway. The Nissan overturned during the incident, ejecting her from the vehicle. She suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.

Police also confirmed that Valencia was not wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred. The circumstances surrounding the vehicle leaving the roadway have not been fully explained in the information released by authorities.

The crash took place during the early morning hours, when Valencia was traveling along Strawberry Road. Within moments, the vehicle had overturned, and the 23-year-old driver had lost her life.

Rollover crashes can have devastating consequences, especially when someone is thrown from a vehicle. Seat belts are designed to help keep occupants inside during a collision or rollover. In this case, police confirmed that Valencia was not wearing one.

Virginia State Police are continuing to investigate the fatal single-vehicle crash. Authorities have not announced any additional findings or released further information about the events leading up to the incident.

Beyond the police investigation, the crash has left a family facing the loss of a 23-year-old loved one. Valencia was from Dry Fork, and her death has brought a sudden end to a life that still had many years ahead. For those closest to her, the loss is far greater than the details contained in a police report.
