Stephen Ray Roberson, 51, of Prineville died Thursday after a UTV rolled over north of Tollgate in Umatilla County. Deputies got the call around 3:30 p.m. about a serious crash on McIntyre Road north of Berry Lane.

Four people were in the vehicle. All of them got thrown out. Roberson took the worst of it and was pronounced dead right there at the scene.

The ground around the crash site was rough and steep. Umatilla County Search and Rescue had to come help the deputies. East Umatilla Fire & Rescue and Pendleton Fire and Ambulance showed up too. Life Flight stayed on standby just in case.

Investigators are still looking into what caused the rollover. So far they say alcohol does not look like it played any part.
