On Windsor Mechanicsville Road in Austinburg Township Ohio a deer stepped out and set off a chain of trouble. Jack P. Scott 30 from Orwell was on his blue and purple 2025 Harley-Davidson Road Glide heading south. The bike struck the animal. It went over and tossed Jack into the roadway.
Right around 10:37 p.m. the next vehicle came. Dalton Slipcevic 29 of Ashtabula drove a red 2006 Jeep Liberty the same direction. He hit the deer and then struck Jack where he lay. The Jeep driver called for help right away.

Crews reached the spot quick. Jack was declared dead there. His exact time of death stayed unclear. The Ohio State Highway Patrol took over the probe into the two crashes.
Jack had been living his life in Orwell until that night. The first hit alone was bad enough. The second one finished it. No one plans for a night like that.
Folks in the area know those roads well. Animals cross them all the time. This time it led to a double wreck that claimed Jack. The silence after the sirens left a hard mark.
Dalton Slipcevic stayed at the scene and did what he could by calling 911. The focus stays on the facts of how the crashes lined up. Jack’s name is the one that will be remembered from that stretch of road.
Life on a motorcycle can turn in a second. For Jack P. Scott of Orwell it did just that on October 13 2026 in Austinburg Township.
