A late-night shooting inside a borough residence ended in tragedy when 25-year-old Philadelphia native Christopher Cross James, known affectionately to friends and family as Chris Glizzy, was fatally wounded.

Emergency personnel responded to a panicked 911 call reporting gunshots at a property located at 109 Walnut Street shortly after 11:15 p.m.

First responders found James suffering from a severe gunshot wound to the torso and immediately initiated life-saving measures on the scene.

Paramedics loaded the young man into an ambulance and rushed him to Geisinger Medical Center in nearby Danville, where doctors later pronounced him dead.

Back in Philadelphia and Berwick, relatives including his stepbrother Joshua Snyder, blood brother Jordan C. Allen, and blood sister Rebecca Marie were left reeling from the sudden phone call detailing his murder.

Family members recalled James as a loving brother and devoted relative whose life was cut short far too soon by a sudden dispute that escalated into fatal violence.

Berwick Borough police officers secured the Walnut Street property overnight, launching a homicide investigation alongside detectives from the Pennsylvania State Police and the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office.

Authorities noted that investigators are examining local camera feeds and interviewing witnesses who were near the home around the time of the shooting, while reassuring residents that no active threat to the general public remains.

As the family struggles with the devastating emotional toll, relatives are rallying to raise funds for funeral expenses so they can give James a dignified burial and proper final tribute.
