Justin Henschel, 42, from Elyria, was riding his 2025 Kawasaki Ninja south on State Route 60 just past 9:45 p.m. Monday when the road curved and everything went wrong. He could not keep the bike on the pavement. The motorcycle left the roadway, slammed into an empty parked car, and threw him off to the left side of the road. The bike kept going and tore through two fences before it stopped.
Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol say he had his helmet on. That did not change the outcome. Justin came to rest off the left side of the road and did not make it.

The crash happened in Florence Township, south of State Route 113. Emergency crews from the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, Florence Township Fire Department, Citizen Ambulance, and Central Automotive Towing all showed up fast. They worked the scene while the investigation got underway.
Justin lived in Elyria. Forty-two years old. One night on a motorcycle and just like that he is gone. No other details about his family or job have come out yet. The people who knew him are left with a sudden empty space.
The patrol is still looking into exactly what happened on that curve. No word yet on speed or other factors. The parked car was empty. No one else got hurt.
Nights like this hit hard in small towns along those state routes. One missed curve and a life ends. Justin Henschel was the one on the bike that night.
Family and friends now face the days ahead without him. The investigation continues.
