Thuan Vo, 21, is facing a homicide charge in Northampton County after telling police he accidentally shot his brother while trying to unload a handgun inside their residence. The fatal shooting occurred shortly after midnight on Sunday at a house along the 2200 block of Birch Street in Wilson Borough, Pennsylvania.
Wilson Borough Police officers rushed to the Birch Street residence after Thuan called 911 himself to report the incident. Investigators state that Thuan told dispatchers and officers he was trying to clear his Glock 19 when the weapon unexpectedly went off.

According to court records, Thuan and his brother, Bryan Vo, were hanging out watching a movie together and planning a quick trip to a nearby gas station for drinks. Both brothers had recently bought handguns and earned their concealed carry licenses.
Thuan informed investigators that he pulled his Glock 19 from its holster inside the home and attempted to unload it. During the process, the gun discharged, firing a round that traveled about 20 feet across the room and struck Bryan in the back of his neck.
Responding officers found Bryan severely injured on the floor. Emergency crews transported him straight to St. Luke’s Hospital – Anderson Campus for emergency treatment, but medical personnel could not save him. Bryan passed away at the hospital shortly before 7 a.m.
Police later found the handgun sitting in the kitchen. Court documents reveal that when officers secured the Glock 19, the magazine was fully inserted into the weapon and a live round remained loaded in the chamber.
Police formally charged Thuan Vo with homicide later that morning. Following his arraignment on Sunday, a judge ordered him held at the Northampton County Prison without bail while his case moves forward.
As court proceedings begin, law enforcement officials stress that the homicide charge remains an allegation. Thuan Vo holds the legal presumption of innocence until proven guilty in a court of law.
