A left turn onto U.S. 52 ended in a deadly collision Saturday night after a 2025 Honda CR-V entered the path of a westbound Kia in Anderson Township, Ohio. The crash killed the Honda’s driver, Donita Bessent, and left a husband and wife seriously injured.
The collision happened shortly after 10 p.m. on October 31, 2026, near Eight Mile Road in Hamilton County. According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Bessent was attempting to turn left from Eight Mile Road onto westbound U.S. 52 when she failed to yield to approaching traffic.

A 2012 Kia traveling westbound struck the Honda on the driver’s side. The Kia was driven by 39-year-old Jerry Ncelhamey, who had his wife, Stacy Ncelhamey, riding with him as a passenger. The impact left all three people involved in the crash needing emergency attention.
Bessent was taken by emergency crews to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. She later died from her injuries at the hospital. Authorities have not disclosed her age.
Jerry Ncelhamey and his wife also suffered serious injuries. Both were transported to a hospital for treatment. Their conditions have not been made public, leaving questions about their recovery unanswered.
The response to the crash included a request for an Air Care medical helicopter. However, the helicopter was later called off. The circumstances that led to the request and its cancellation were not further explained in the available reports.
One detail investigators have addressed is whether speed or impairment played a role. The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office said neither appeared to be a contributing factor. That finding narrows some of the questions surrounding the crash, but investigators have not released a complete account of what happened.
The department’s Traffic Safety Unit is continuing the investigation. The collision took place on U.S. 52 near Eight Mile Road in Anderson Township, an eastern Hamilton County community southeast of Cincinnati. No further details about the injured couple’s conditions or Bessent’s age have been released.
