Bria Boone took off when deputies tried to pull her over Thursday evening in Toledo. She drove a 2018 Ford Escape and refused to stop. The Lucas County Sheriff’s Office chased her north on Interstate 475.
She got off at Airport Highway and turned onto North Holland Sylvania Road. Near Nebraska Avenue she lost control of the car. It crossed into the other lane and smashed into a 2016 Honda CR-V.
The Honda was driven by Laura Anaple. Boone died right there at the scene. Anaple got rushed to the University of Toledo Medical Center. She died from her injuries later that night.
A kid riding with Boone ended up with life-threatening injuries. Medics took the child to ProMedica Toledo Hospital. No one has said how old the kid is or how the child is doing now.
The crash happened around 5:54 p.m. Ohio State Highway Patrol is looking into everything. Several local departments helped at the scene including Toledo police and fire crews.
Both women lived in Toledo. Boone was 32. Anaple was 64. The whole thing started with a simple traffic stop that turned into a chase and then a head-on wreck.
Families are dealing with the sudden loss. The investigation is still open while the injured child fights to get better.
