Marques T. Sturdivant hit the pavement hard on a quiet stretch of road Thursday morning. The 30-year-old from the Allentown area never made it home.

It happened around 10:13 a.m. in the 4400 block of Huckleberry Road in South Whitehall Township. Sturdivant was riding his motorcycle when the crash took place. South Whitehall Township sits in Lehigh County, right in the Lehigh Valley of eastern Pennsylvania.

Workers got him to Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest fast. Doctors there pronounced him dead at 11:37 a.m. Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio said the cause was multiple blunt force injuries. He ruled the death accidental.

Sturdivant was not wearing a helmet that morning. Buglio made that clear in his report. Police from South Whitehall Township and the coroner’s office are still looking into what led up to the wreck. They have not shared more about how it unfolded.

Friends and family now face the sudden loss of a young man just starting his thirties. The crash left little time for goodbyes. Sturdivant lived nearby and knew these roads well.

Investigators continue their work on the scene and the bike. No other details have come out yet. The township stays quiet while the probe moves forward.

Local folks who drive Huckleberry Road every day now pass the spot where one rider’s life ended without warning.
