Jerry L. Jones, 70, and his wife Connie L. Jones, 66, were badly hurt in a three-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in rural Dixon, Illinois. The couple, from Rock Falls, had been riding together on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle when the collision unfolded at the intersection of Lowell Park Road and Timber Creek Road. What began as a routine ride ended in a sudden tragedy that has shaken their community.
Investigators say Jerry was driving southbound with Connie riding behind him when the motorcycle collided with a Dodge Ram van heading north. The force of the crash pushed both vehicles into a third car that had been stopped at the intersection. The impact left Jerry and Connie with life-threatening injuries, and emergency crews rushed to save them.

Dixon City Fire personnel first transported Jerry to OSF Saint Katharine Hospital before he was airlifted to OSF Saint Anthony’s Hospital in Rockford. Connie was flown directly from the scene by OSF Lifeline to Rockford as well. Both remain in critical condition, and their family waits anxiously for updates.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies, Dixon Police, Dixon Rural Fire, Dixon City Fire, and Advance EMS all responded to the scene. Their quick work ensured the couple received urgent medical care, but the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Neighbors and friends describe Jerry and Connie as kind, warm people who loved spending time together. To them, this accident is not just another headline—it’s a painful reminder of how quickly life can change. The couple’s names now carry the weight of fear and hope as loved ones pray for their recovery.
The community has rallied around the Jones family, offering support and encouragement. For many, the sight of emergency responders working tirelessly at the intersection is a lasting image of dedication and care. It’s also a reminder of the fragility of everyday routines.
As Jerry and Connie fight for their lives, their story has become one of resilience and love. Their family and friends hold on to hope, waiting for the day they can see them smile again. Until then, the town of Rock Falls stands with them, united in concern and compassion.
