Cedricc Theanthonii Joe was just 26 when a crash took his life on a Tucson street Wednesday night. It happened near East Cochise Vista and Campbell Avenue around 7:37 p.m. He was on his motorcycle heading north on Campbell.
Police say he was going faster than the speed limit. He had no headlamp on and wore no helmet. A car driver was trying to turn onto Cochise Vista when the two vehicles hit.

The car driver stayed at the scene. That person was not hurt. Tucson police checked and found the driver was not impaired. The crash is still under investigation.
Joe had his whole life in front of him. Friends and family now face empty days where plans used to be. The road that night left no room for second chances.
A destroyed motorcycle and a damaged car sat at the intersection after the hit. First responders pronounced Joe dead right there. No one else got hurt.
This kind of wreck hits hard in a city where people drive these roads every day. Speed and missing gear turn regular trips into something final. Joe’s name is now tied to that spot on Campbell.
Folks who knew him will carry the weight of what happened. The silence after a young person dies like this does not fade quick. Tucson roads keep moving, but one rider is gone for good.
