Garrett Siffer was just 18 and lived in Ida. On Thursday morning October 15 2026 he drove his blue 2010 Ford Fusion north on North Raisinville Road north of Stewart Road in Raisinville Township Monroe County.
Around 6:54 a.m. the car left the road for reasons no one knows yet. It went into a ditch hit a tree and flipped onto its roof. Then the vehicle caught fire.
Crews from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office firefighters ambulance workers and chaplains all got there fast. They worked the scene but Garrett was pronounced dead right there.
He had a whole life ahead of him. Eighteen years is not much time. The people who knew him now face a quiet that hits hard.
The crash happened on a regular Thursday. One moment he was driving. The next everything stopped.
Investigators still look into what made the car lose control. No other vehicles were involved.
Garrett Siffer of Ida is gone. His family and friends carry the weight of that news now.
