Brooklyn Imani was 18 and riding in the back seat when the Equinox she was in swung into the opposite lane. It was Thursday evening on State Highway 105 in Washington County, Texas. The car slammed head-on into an oncoming Impala west of the Brazos River.
Wallace Perry, 70, drove the Impala. Gloria Sanders, 70, sat next to him. Both lived in Washington, Texas. They died at the scene along with Brooklyn. The clock said about 5:30 p.m. on October 8, 2026.
Texas DPS troopers pieced it together quick. The Equinox headed east. The driver tried to pass another vehicle where the signs and lines said no. That move put the car straight into the path of the westbound Impala.
Kayla Bravo, 19, from Cypress, drove the Equinox. Her passengers Katherine Atwell, 18, from Montgomery, and Leyla Aljaloudi, 18, from Cypress, survived the impact. All three got airlifted to Memorial Hermann downtown Houston in critical shape.
The road closed both ways for a long stretch. First responders from Brenham, Washington, and Grimes County worked the crash. Helicopters lifted the injured out. Investigators stayed on scene checking every detail.
People who knew Brooklyn talk about a kid with years still ahead. The two older victims had already put in seven decades. One bad decision on a two-lane highway took all three.
The three survivors remain in the hospital. Their families wait and hope. The rest of the story sits with the troopers still sorting the facts
