Speed and alcohol are suspected factors in a fatal weekend rollover that left a 26-year-old driver dead in St. Clair County. Emergency responders were called out to a dark section of Interstate 94 in Kimball Township late Saturday night after a car ran off the main road.
The crash took place at approximately 11:42 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-94, situated between Wadhams Road and Gratiot Road. The car went off the roadway and flipped into the east-side ditch.

When deputies and paramedics arrived at the scene, they found a single vehicle resting heavily in the ditch. The driver, identified as Kyle Cameron of Port Huron, had been partially ejected during the violent rollover.
Cameron was trapped under the weight of the vehicle when first responders reached him. Rescue personnel attempted emergency extraction procedures, but the impact proved too severe for him to survive.
Paramedics pronounced Cameron dead right at the scene shortly after arriving. Police confirmed he was the sole occupant in the car and no other vehicles were hit during the incident.
Investigators from local law enforcement have opened an inquiry to determine the exact sequence of events leading up to the wreck. Early indications point to high speed and alcohol consumption as likely contributing factors.
The stretch of eastbound highway between Wadhams and Gratiot roads remained active with emergency units while crews cleared the crash site. The investigation into the rollover remains ongoing.
