State troopers are piecing together the events surrounding a deadly single-vehicle crash that claimed a young life on County Road 550. The incident took place Tuesday in Concord Township, where a quiet rural corridor became the scene of a major investigation.
Investigators with the Ohio State Highway Patrol Chillicothe Post confirmed that 24-year-old Collin Fout of Frankfort was driving a 2023 Jeep Wrangler southeast along County Road 550. He was navigating the stretch near Heather Drive when his vehicle lost control while coming up on a curve.

According to preliminary reports, the Jeep failed to make the turn and veered off the right side of the roadway. The sudden off-road path caused the vehicle to flip into a violent rollover, traveling onto the embankment before striking a wooden utility pole with significant force.
The severe motion of the crash ejected Collin from the cabin of the Jeep. Passersby and nearby residents alerted emergency services, bringing troopers and paramedics to the scene along County Road 550 within minutes of the initial call.
First responders arrived to find the damaged Wrangler beside the utility pole and Collin lying nearby with critical injuries. Emergency crews provided immediate life-saving care on the spot before transporting him by ambulance to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.
Despite aggressive medical intervention by hospital personnel, Collin succumbed to the heavy injuries sustained in the crash. State police have not released further details on whether speed or road conditions played a role, as the investigation remains active.
The crash serves as a stark reminder of how quickly conditions can change on winding rural Ohio roads. For the Frankfort community, the focus remains on supporting a family facing the sudden loss of a 24-year-old driver on a stretch of highway they traveled every day.
