Friday night turned deadly near Hearne. Christopher Burton, his young daughter Chloe, and a woman named Gina Jones died when their rig crashed.
It happened shortly after 9 p.m. out by FM 485 and Zane Wallace Road. The area sits just west of the Hearne city limits. It’s a quiet stretch of country road that suddenly became a massive scene for first responders.

Christopher was 37 years old. He was riding in an 18-wheeler meant to haul livestock. His 12-year-old daughter Chloe was with him. Gina Jones, 40, was also in the heavy truck.
For reasons state troopers are still trying to piece together, the big rig drifted off the pavement. The heavy truck could not get back on track. It rolled over in the dirt alongside the highway.
The tumbling semi eventually slammed into a massive tree right off the shoulder. The impact crushed the cab of the truck. Emergency crews rushed to the dirt shoulder, but they could not save the three people inside.
Folks who knew Christopher and Chloe are now dealing with an impossible reality. A father and his young girl went out for a drive and never made it back. Chloe had her whole life ahead of her.
Gina Jones leaves behind her own stunned friends and relatives. Losing three people at once in a single wreck has sent shockwaves through the local community. Folks are mourning the sudden empty spaces left in their daily lives.
The twisted metal has been cleared from Zane Wallace Road. But the emotional wreckage is just starting for the families. They are left holding onto old photos and memories of a regular Friday night that went terribly wrong.
