Charles Harrison, Scotrun, PA: Father And Toddler Son Found Dead Inside Pocono Resort Room

A family getaway to a popular Pocono Mountains waterpark resort ended in a double homicide inside Room 2030 on Monday afternoon.

Pocono Township police officers rushed to Great Wolf Lodge in Scotrun shortly after 3:00 p.m. following a frantic 911 call from 27-year-old Metallica Rose Harrison.

First responders arrived at the second-floor hallway and found Metallica Harrison bleeding from self-inflicted wounds near the open doorway of the room.

Officers pushed past the doorway and discovered her husband, 36-year-old Charles “Chaz” Harrison, dead on a mattress on the floor with multiple knife wounds to his chest.

Nearby on a separate mattress, police officers located the couple’s three-year-old son dead from what appeared to be a single knife wound to his chest.

Crime scene investigators recovered two knives inside the bathroom, including a large butcher knife on the floor and a smaller knife on the sink counter.

Resort management told detectives that neither knife belonged to the property or matched the standard kitchen items provided in guest suites.

Police noted that Metallica Harrison apologized during her 911 call, stated her family was gone, and never asked dispatchers for medical assistance for her husband or child.

Paramedics transported Metallica Harrison to St. Luke’s Hospital–Monroe Campus in Stroudsburg, where she told an escorting officer that she was supposed to have a happy family.

Duane Davis, Las Vegas, NV: Former Gang Boss Receives Life Term For Masterminding Hip-Hop Icon’s Slaying

Former gang leader Duane “Keffe D” Davis will spend at least four decades behind bars after receiving a sentence of 40 years to life on Tuesday.

A Clark County jury found the 63-year-old guilty of first-degree murder with a deadly weapon following a high-profile trial in August.

The court order closes a major chapter in one of the nation’s most notorious cold cases stemming from the September 1996 ambush in Las Vegas.

Shakur, who sold over 75 million records worldwide, died six days after gunmen opened fire on his car near the Las Vegas Strip.

Judge Carli Kierny rejected defense leniency requests, stating that taking a life carries permanent legal consequences regardless of how many years have passed.

Investigators spent decades gathering evidence on the street gang conspiracy that led directly to the fatal shooting.

Court records confirm that Davis received credit for time already served while awaiting his trial and formal sentencing hearing.

The ruling delivers long-sought legal accountability for the family, friends, and millions of fans who have followed the case since 1996.

Tupac Shakur, Las Vegas, NV: Judge Hands Down 40 Years To Life Sentence In 1996 Drive-By Murder

A Las Vegas judge sentenced 63-year-old Duane “Keffe D” Davis to 40 years to life in prison Tuesday for orchestrating the fatal 1996 drive-by shooting of rap icon Tupac Shakur.

The long-awaited sentencing follows a landmark first-degree murder conviction handed down by a Nevada jury in August.

Shakur was just 25 years old and at the height of his legendary music career when gunfire struck his vehicle on September 7, 1996.

The award-winning artist, actor, and activist fought for his life in a local hospital for six days before succumbing to his injuries.

During Tuesday’s court proceedings, Judge Carli Kierny directly addressed the defendant before issuing the maximum penalty.

“You don’t get to take a man from his family,” Judge Kierny told the courtroom. “You don’t get to take his very life, his whole future from him, and just walk away from it. Especially when that man is Tupac Shakur.”

Prosecutors successfully proved that Davis directed the gang-related hit, obtained the murder weapon, and sat inside the vehicle from which the deadly shots were fired.

Davis remains the only person ever formally charged and convicted in connection with Shakur’s death.

Duane Davis, Las Vegas, NV: Former Gang Leader Gets 40 Years After Book Confession Voids Immunity Deal

Former street gang leader Duane “Keffe D” Davis received a 40-year prison sentence in Las Vegas following his conviction for the 1996 murder of rap superstar Tupac Shakur.

The 63-year-old defendant, who confirmed plans to appeal the verdict, was found guilty of murder with a deadly weapon after a jury trial in September.

Investigators initially secured a detailed account of the drive-by shooting when Davis sat down for a secret police interview back in 2008.

At the time, federal and local authorities offered Davis a proffer agreement that protected him from criminal charges in exchange for information about the killing of Christopher Wallace.

However, Davis later wrote a 2019 memoir titled Compton Street Legend and gave numerous public interviews taking credit for providing the murder weapon.

Trial judges determined that Davis forfeited his legal protections by publicizing those details for commercial gain, opening the door for murder charges.

Prosecutors established that Davis sat in the front passenger seat of the white Cadillac while his late nephew, Orlando Anderson, fired the fatal shots from the back seat.

Anderson denied any involvement in Shakur’s death before he was killed in an unrelated shooting in 1998.

The conviction brings legal closure to a major 1990s cold case that lingered without an arrest for almost thirty years.

Tupac Shakur, Las Vegas, NV: Former Gang Boss Sentenced To 40 Years For 1996 Drive-By Shooting

A Nevada judge handed down a 40-year prison sentence to former gang leader Duane “Keffe D” Davis for his role in the 1996 murder of hip-hop icon Tupac Shakur.

A Clark County jury convicted the 63-year-old former South Side Compton Crips leader in September on one count of murder with a deadly weapon.

The conviction marked the very first criminal prosecution in a famous cold case that remained unsolved for nearly three decades following the Las Vegas drive-by shooting.

Shakur was just 25 years old and at the peak of his music career when gunmen opened fire on his car on September 7, 1996.

Prosecutors proved that while Davis did not pull the trigger himself, he acted as the ringleader who organized the hit and handed the weapon to his nephew, Orlando Anderson.

Key evidence presented in court included Davis’ own recorded statements and written admissions from his 2019 memoir, Compton Street Legend.

Davis originally disclosed his involvement during a confidential 2008 police interview regarding the murder of rapper Christopher Wallace, also known as Notorious B.I.G.

That proffer agreement shielded Davis from prosecution until he chose to publish details of the crime in his book and discuss them in media interviews.

A judge ruled that Davis violated his immunity deal by going public, allowing prosecutors to use his recorded police interview against him during trial.

Defense attorneys argued during the trial that Davis exaggerated his story and made up the details to profit off book sales, but jurors rejected that argument after reviewing the evidence.

Hassan Jihad Kariem, Austell, GA: Major Crimes Unit And State Regulators Probe Fatal Amusement Park Accident

Homicide detectives and state ride inspectors launched a full-scale safety investigation following a fatal ejection on a roller coaster in Austell, Georgia.

The Cobb County Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit swarmed the Goliath ride area at Six Flags Over Georgia shortly before 4:00 p.m. Monday.

Officers secured the perimeter beneath the 200-foot-tall steel structure after finding 42-year-old Hassan Jihad Kariem dead on the ground.

Preliminary findings revealed Kariem slipped out of his seat while the train was navigating the track, hitting other riders before falling to the earth.

Inspectors from the Georgia Office of Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire arrived on site to examine the ride’s restraint mechanisms, lap bars, and braking systems.

In response to the tragedy, Six Flags corporate executives temporarily shut down nine similar hypercoasters across six different theme parks nationwide as a precautionary measure.

Theme park representatives issued a statement offering condolences to Kariem’s family while confirming their complete cooperation with state and local authorities.

Engineers and forensic investigators remain at the Austell property analyzing mechanical data to determine how the mechanical restraint failed to keep the rider secured.

Ambulances transported the four injured park guests to local medical centers, where doctors evaluated them for non-life-threatening injuries.

Park employees immediately brought the coaster train to a full stop on the tracks and safely evacuated all remaining passengers.
