Friday afternoon traffic near the outlets in Knox County looked ordinary until just after 5 p.m. A motorcycle and another vehicle collided at 11400 Outlets Drive. Tony Robinson was the one on the bike.
Deputies rolled up and found him injured. They rushed him straight to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Medical staff there pronounced him dead a short time later.
Tony lived in Coalfield. He was out riding when the crash happened. No one saw it coming. The day started normal and ended with his name on the wrong kind of report.
The Crash Reconstruction Unit from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office took over the scene. They measured, photographed, and started piecing together the moments before impact. Their work is still underway.
Folks who crossed paths with Tony remember a guy who showed up when it mattered. Those memories are what remain now that he is gone.
A regular stretch of road claimed a life in minutes. The other driver walked away. Tony did not.
Investigators keep digging for answers while Coalfield sits with the news. Tony Robinson is remembered by the people who knew him best.
